EdVideo Online will no longer be available
to teachers after June 30, 2010.
However, New York State’s public television stations already provide an array of educational services to students, teachers, and parents and we are committed to continuing to do so. Through THIRTEEN (WNET) and WLIW, all New York public television stations are now providing free of charge VITAL New York, an online library of digital media resources for the K-12 classroom as part of our new NYS branded statewide mulitmedia service.
VITAL New York features public television video and interactive content and is fully aligned to the state’s learning standards. VITAL NY offers all state educators, students and their parents access to free, online video-based instructional activities to more than 2,000 resources, including 300 developed to support the New York State core curriculum in English Language Arts and mathematics for grades 3-8, as well as more than 1,000 that are aligned to the New York State Regents curriculum in Global History and Geography, Living Environment, Earth Science, Physics, and Chemistry. In addition to VITAL NY, Teachers Domain supported and developed by WGBH in Boston, MA provides additional teacher and student resources for free. Finally, PBS is working to launch their Digital Learning Library (DLL) services utilizing all the PBS content into formats teachers expect sometime in 2010.
